During the meeting with the Tutor ,we have discussed everything regarding to my project. I have introduced my ideas and my first sketches to the book. "The magic of the amulet" is a story written by my friend's daughter. There are three main characters - Abby the little girl who lives on the tropical Island with her friends: Olivia the dolphin and Patrick the crab. I already know how they will look like. I need to think how to draw the Island and mermaids. In my head it will be a magical and colorful,  fantasy World.  My first idea was to draw 4 pictures based on the story and to make front and back cover. The Tutor advice was to create two more pages as the story will be more interesting and easier to read for the children. We talk trough every page and I am convinced now that is good idea to draw two additional pages. I will use Procreate and Flipsnack and I will make a mock book  to be able to see how will my book look in real life. I was so excided with this idea , that is my biggest dream! Hold the book with my own illustrations in it!  Jurrian told me to use simple photo book app to print my final product. I am looking forward to this.

    Good that you have posted this. Please make sure you complete the project and share a Google Drive link in this post, as you will be updating this each week. Please note that you are not required to have a printed version of your book for this assessment. You can present your work using mock-ups and a digital flipbook.

 To create my leaflet I used Procreate, First I did a research about pop art comic styles in 1950s 1960. I  went trough many websites focused on colors and fonts that has been used. The colors were bright with many different size spots, which I tried to recreate on my picture. I decided to draw in Procreate as my project contains free hand drawing and Procreate is the best for that. I drew a blond hair girl and the "bad guy" in the hood on. I did this in purpose as the commercials back in 1960s were very sexist. The men were always introduced as very important person, who is allowed everything. Basically women place was at home, doing dishes, tidying away and looking after children. Men life, on the vintage adverts is much more interesting, they exploring World, new gadgets, alcohols and cigarettes. Unfortunately they had much more fun than woman. Eco Academy - stationary mock up

  This time I used Freepik website to find the stationary for the mock up.  I downloaded the png picture to be able to work in photoshop.  The picture was ready to edit and divided on many layers (bottom right side in photoshop) Every single object is a separate layer such as envelope, paper, mug, badge, notebook and so on. I clicked on the layer which I wanted to transform and I changed the picture to the smart object (right click - transform to the smart object). I double clicked on the layer and its created new layer where I was able editing the picture by changing colours or adding logo and text. I repeated that with every single object. I decided to add a different colour to stationary because everything looked similar and boring. In procreate I opened Eco Academy poster which I created earlier and I chose the colour.  For my major project I will use Procreate which is a graphics editor app for digital drawing and painting Procreate app logo I started using Procreate during lockdown. At the beginning I followed simple tutorials on You Tube , then i found amazing person called Bardot Brush.  Lisa Bardot lives in Australia with her husband and three children, however every Friday she delivered a live tutorials were I was able draw with her and learn new techniques on Procreate. I really enjoyed that and the fact that we had a group on Facebook where we shared our drawings after every live. That was interesting experience because people commented their work and we supported each other. Lisa Bardot is an illustrator and she also makes digital brushes for Procreate.
