To create my leaflet I used Procreate, First I did a research about pop art comic styles in 1950s 1960. I went trough many websites focused on colors and fonts that has been used. The colors were bright with many different size spots, which I tried to recreate on my picture. I decided to draw in Procreate as my project contains free hand drawing and Procreate is the best for that. I drew a blond hair girl and the "bad guy" in the hood on. I did this in purpose as the commercials back in 1960s were very sexist. The men were always introduced as very important person, who is allowed everything. Basically women place was at home, doing dishes, tidying away and looking after children. Men life, on the vintage adverts is much more interesting, they exploring World, new gadgets, alcohols and cigarettes. Unfortunately they had much more fun than woman. I am glad that is changed now.

I drew a big rectangle to mark the edges of my leaflet, next a added some different rectangular shapes to plan my comic. From my simple sketch I knew that I would need four of them. at the same time I needed to remember about the most important rule in Procreate - adding layers! I drew a story in each rectangle, then I used Pop Art brush set from Procreate. That let me create spotty background for each color as we can see on Andy Warhol's work. Using those brushes helps me a lot. I downloaded them for free from this website then I uploaded the whole set on my procreate.

choosing a perfect brush |
Once I had the paintbrushes and my comic was completed I start coloring everything step by step. I choose one of my picture in the rectangular box, then I added a new layer underneath to start coloring, however at the same time I click "alpha block" on the previous layer to keep the outlines in black. I enjoyed coloring so much. It took me at least three hours to complete it.
