the magic of the amulet - progress part 4

I used colours to mark the scenes and to define how many pages I would draw. However during drawing I realized that I need to draw more pages as the text does not fit on the page. For instance, this highlighted in blue is to long for one page.

I knew that the next page would be in the same setting, so I uploaded previous illustration as a reference.

This page is quite sad. I like drawing emotions, however this time I was very careful to not draw to sad or to scary pictures.

When finished colouring I added the text. That is always the last step for me. My inspiration is polish illustrator Daniel Wlodarski and I saw something interesting on his Instagram , he often start with the text, then he drawing illustrations around

I draw this picture next, when Abby and Olivia spotted something, deep in the ocean. As always I used the same brushes to make a sketch, then bride colours. This time I also use the lightpen brush to define glowing from the amulet. It works well on the Ipad, however now is just a green colour, not that shiny ad it was on procreate.

I left the empty space for the text. Always consider that in the very first sketch.

This is my simple sketch for the next page. And again, I have changed page order because of the text length
As always I used previous illustration as my reference to keep the same colours and details.
This page had a lot of text, but I could not split it . I think it work pretty well and I wanted to show the depth of the ocean
I was wondering how to show the amulet,, happy girl and the magic on one illustration. I did a good research, mostly in happy just engaged girls and I have used one as my reference.

That is how I have created my Mermaid

I enjoyed drawing her and adding some effects, this time I chose Bokeh Lights effect from the brush library. This is my favourite page.

The very last page shows happines and all the characters together. I could easily make changes from first sketch. In this case I have moved the crab and I make the dolphin smaller.
I used tools from the top left corner to resized and move objects.

The cover! I am so happy with results! I LOVE my first book ! Took me hours and hours of drawing but it was a pleasure. I am looking forward to show it to my little friend. How exiting!
