First thoughts

 1. Which theme are you most drawn and why?

Purple Haze. Use the color purple as your theme, consider what it represents and how it can be incorporated into your art or design project.
Earthly Delights. Interpret this title as you please to represent, incorporate or express the nature of earthly delights in your art and design project.
Expressionism. Look deeply into expressionism and incorporate this style into your art and design project.

Earthly delights theme caught my eye first. I love nature and I would have many opportunities using this theme as there is wide range of elements which I could use. I could focus on beautiful wild animals or colorful  plants or mysterious sea life.

Second theme that cough my eye is Expressionism. My favorite expressionist artists are Vincent Van Gogh, Edward Munch, Henri Matisse and my last inspiration Egon Schiele. I love how powerful and colorful is expressionism. I would be able to use unlimited colors pallet and try abstract painting which  is something new for me. When I did research and I looked trough expressionism I was more inspired and very close to change my decision and choose it as my main theme.

2. How do you think you can apply this theme to work in your own subject area?

My first thought was to create nature related pictures on Procreate or Photoshop. I would use bright colours, different kinds of brushes and paints to express the texture and pattern. I want my pictures to be magical and full of colours.

3. What pops into you head first when considering this project?

I would love to create something different this term. I am thinking to use my paintings to create my own piece of fabric or I would love to paint on white trainers (inspired by Monday session) . I could also create the shoe company from basics, where the colourful shoes would be the main theme.

If I will stay with the Earthly Delights theme, the purpose of my creation can be International Day of Earth or environment and how to look after it. I know that is very popular in Primary Schools to became a Green School and receive the green flag. It is a long process and schools need to improve and change many things  such as reducing using papers and plastic, focus on healthy eating and so on. In my project I will design nature related t-shirt, magnets, badges, flag and all resources

4. Does it make you think of any particular artists and/or designers?

Phil Blake. Colorful crossing. Leicester Charles Street

Phill Blake artist that I have met during the  Bring the Paint festival in Leicester. He is famous for painting beautiful nature related graffiti all around England. He also created a few amazing graffities in Leicester.

  1. Interesting ideas here, as a Graphic Designer it is important to think in terms of your work having a message, a purpose and perhaps a narrative (story) to the work even if they are a series of posters or a design package. I would like you to go further and consider how you could mount a campaign using the theme and how you could create that in a variety of ways (hand drawings/paintings, scanned and then altered in Photoshop, Procreate or Illustrator). I am going to see about getting some Face to Face tutorials this term for using other forms of software (such as Photoshop) aimed at specific outcomes, I suggest you join them when they come along.
