In my self study time I went again trough the presentation that we watched during the first session in Art Portfolio. We talked about self portraits and the main task was to draw self portrait in 15min. I started drawing and my first idea was to draw self-portrait using only one black line, similar to the blind drawing that I did in the first term. However, I was not happy with the results and I decided to look for more inspirations. I looked at many famous artists and their self-portraits such as Salvador Dali "Soft self portrait with fried bacon" (1941); Caravaggio "Hidden self-portrait" were he uses his own head in the painting "David with the head of Goliath" and so on. One of my favourite was the double self-portrait by Egon Schiele. I did the quick research looking for the inspiration. I love his drawing techniques , some of his portraits looks like an unfinished sketches. He often used a black outline and splash of colours.

I used Procreate and my photo to draw my self - portrait . First I changed the background colour for the light brown. I used the reference photo and on the new layer I start drawing simple sketch by using basic brush in black.
In the next step I have changed the painting brush for "tamar" to add some structure in painting. I started colouring my image. I like the white colour around Egon Shiele's drawings and I decided to try something similar.
