Eco Academy, the logo re-work

I have uploaded two pictures of the logo which I created before. On the new layer I drew a rectangle shape and placed the logo inside that shape. That was my base and I started to re-create the logo.
The name of the school is placed in the two blocks and I drew the roots back .

The font should be simple and clear without any additional details as the tree and the colours would be also important in the logo.

I know the font should be bold and simple, however, it wasn't easy to chose the right size as the word "Academy" is much longer then "Eco" and looks completely different in the block.

My previous design helped me with the colours and I started working on the logo for the houses in the Eco Academy.  The green and yellow shape is based on the circle as I wanted to keep the project simple and use primary colours. I draw everything on the separate layers, once I was happy with the effect I clicked "marge down" and all the shapes were glued together. There will be four houses, so I duplicated the logo and I started working on colours. Red for fire, light blue for the Air , brawn for the Earth and blue for the Water

In results I have logo with 4 different colour which is interesting. I would use any of them, depends of the background. For example if the background of the poster will be blue, then I would use logo with the red colour on it.

  1. This seems much more realised than when we spoke - the simplicity is good up to a point, could there be other elements/colours in the background of the logo (that fit each house) rather than a white background? I'm thinking in terms of using each logo for different elements - if you are using the logo for clothing or on a lanyard, how will they have to be different for each part of your campaign? On a lanyard, would they be even more simple? As a badge on a jumper, would they need a coloured background and so on?
