"Acid Drinkers" Punk Zine Cover

Punk Zine is a magazine where we could find the information about the gigs or latest album of our favourite band, interviews and all news from the Punk World. Back in 90' in Poland we also had a punk zines and what is interesting we also called them zines. Usually it was more like cheap leaflet, hand written with a hand drawing pictures. There was no computers and printers available to everyone and the internet didn't exist. Information included in zine were basically from the local events and local bands. The main polish cities have their own Zines.
I created the Punk zine cover in procreate. I created the title Acid Drinkers because is related to the favourite alcohol drinks by proper Punk, which was a very cheap, horrible tasted wine. Sam introduced me a Sniffin' Glue', the first British punk fanzine, which was very inspirational and I think Acid Drinkers is good enough for a zine title.
I used my old drawing in the middle and I arranged some information around this picture. I found the information about the Manchester Punk Festival and decided to use it on the cover as an article about the event. I deliberately used the handwriting on the article title because back in 90' almost all the zine were hand written. To the Acid Drinkers text written in capital letters I used the irregular font and I chose colour red as it was very common colour used in zines. I also painted the background with the special brush for brick wall effect, because I wanted to picture on the cover page looks like the poster stock sloppily on the wall. 

 
I am happy with the final result , my cover includes title , date, price, information about interesting events and articles, logo of my 77 tattoo studio and  my drawings. 
Regarding to the last online lesson I could transfer this cover to the movie poster with all the information about my project and the deadline.

    This would be good as part of your overall Design package along with the '9 drawings' as stickers for your tattoo project. These could be 'add-ons' to your project idea, further promotional elements alongside your tattoo designs.

 Finally I was bereave  enough to experiment with the Photoshop to create the tote bag for the school. I  started with the mock up picture which I found on the free mock up website, and I downloaded it on the laptop.  After transferring the picture to the Photoshop I used a clone tool to remove the design which was already there, however a few minutes after I have finished designing the bag I learned how to do it in completely different way. I knew I am doing something wrong as it took me to long .    I used the same free background logo which I created earlier in Procreate . I fit it to the tote bag size and I saved the picture in jpg, choosing "file" and " save as"  on the left top corner . I am happy with the results, the picture is sharp in a good quality.  In my project I will draw illustrations to a short story for children, therefore this research will help me to find information and answer to the big question: " What's make the great children book illustration? "  There is many factors what I need to consider before I will start drawing: - the age group.  - type an style of illustrations suitable for this age group - the book style - how many illustration I will include in my page. - what to avoid in the illustrations for children To decide in what style I will draw the pictures is also very important. Is that will be more cartoony or scary or is the pictures are relevant to the story. For example soft and gentle illustrations would not be perfect for a story about monsters. During the meeting with the Tutor ,we have discussed everything regarding to my project. I have introduced my ideas and my first sketches to the book. "The magic of the amulet" is a story written by my friend's daughter. There are three main characters - Abby the little girl who lives on the tropical Island with her friends: Olivia the dolphin and Patrick the crab. I already know how they will look like. I need to think how to draw the Island and mermaids. In my head it will be a magical and colorful,  fantasy World.  My first idea was to draw 4 pictures based on the story and to make front and back cover. The Tutor advice was to create two more pages as the story will be more interesting and easier to read for the children. We talk trough every page and I am convinced now that is good idea to draw two additional pages.
