Tutorial meeting
During the meeting with Sam, we discussed my progress in the Main Project and what I should do next.
We agreed on the name of the project, which is Punk's not Dead and name of tattoo studio - 77 , as in 1977 punk has began in Poland. I am strongly connected with this year. That was symbol of polish punk and number 77 was printed on the t-shirts and cassette tapes. However in the UK , the beginning of punk is dated a year before, when the Sex Pistols played their historical gig at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester.
Following posts on my blog should be a research into tattoo artists Sailor Jerry and Thomas Riley and also handmade punk aesthetic – Fanzines -Sniffin Glue etc. I will do lots of hand drawing punk related stickers and I will create a cover to the punk zine magazine. Ideally, for this project I should give up digital drawing, would be perfect if I will create everything by using simple techniques like hand drawing and photocopying. Back in 1977 in was no procreate, iPad, internet and printers. The Zine magazine were created and drawn on a paper , then photocopied in the "xero shop"
I will experiment with splashing ink or black paint to develop logo ideas for the tattoo studio called "77"
I will look for an inspirations in the "Repo Man" sci-fi comedy from 1984 and "Wild Abandon" Turkish Netflix series from 2022.

There is no reason why you shouldn't use both digital and hand-made approaches, use all of the skills you have developed over the past 8 months for this project! So work by hand, digitise/scan the work and clean up in Photoshop/Procreate then print out and work by hand and so on.
