The Zine Library

During the Bring the Paint Festival , alongside the Badge Making Workshop was a small Zine exhibition. The Zines were separated into a groups: music, events, mental health and mixed topics. I looked trough all of them which was very inspirational experience, the range of colours, techniques and Zine sizes was impressive. Some of them were hand written, or made in collage technique, other looked professional, depends of the target group, their age and topic. A common factor was that the Zines only had a few pages and were creatively design to attract attention or highlight the magazine topic. I think, my Acid Drinkers Zine would fits there really well.

This Zine cover definitely stands out from all the colourful and bright covers. The light silver font colour on the white background makes it very interesting.  I also like the sentence "Art is the thing that nobody asked you to do".

I like the choice of colours used on this Vague Zine cover. The main article is about Donald Trump and author used mainly orange and red to design the cover and also complementary blue colour which works really well.
This was the most simple and also interesting Zine cover, designed as a print. I like this idea because is eye catching and simple at the same time. We can find there the title of the Zine and also title of the main article followed by zine number.
By taking this picture I wanted to show how interesting is using a collage technique instead of simple text written in Word document. The background is bright and small picture is included but it is readable
This page is also a collage combine with a handwritten text. I took a picture of that page because I found is interesting as it shows that creating a Zine magazine is something what everyone could do at home, without using expensive printers and professional studio.

And this is mine Zine cover which i created for my "Punk's not dead" project. I think it fits perfectly to the Zine Library and I am happy with the outcome. I included my own drawings and title of the zine and articles, along with picture of modern Punk band.  Some of the text is purposely handwritten as I knew that is very common in zines designs.

  1. This is much better than the original post, well done! Much more thoughtful and a good focus on the elements of the design used in these covers, demonstrates a good understanding of what is important in your subject area.
